Description: The Department of Energy is inviting Black-owned SMEs to submit proposals for the supply and installation of solar energy systems in selected schools across the Eastern Cape. This project aims to enhance sustainable energy use and reduce electricity costs for educational institutions in the province. The scope includes site assessment, the supply of solar panels, installation, and maintenance services. The successful tenderer will demonstrate compliance with B-BBEE Level 1 or 2, ensuring meaningful participation of Black entrepreneurs. This initiative offers an excellent opportunity for SMEs to showcase innovation and commitment to renewable energy solutions. The project is expected to start in November 2025, with deliverables scheduled over a 12-month period.
